Binary opposition is shown here as these two character are opposites of each other! This is shown through iconography of the cops; clothing (male lead is not wearing formal clothing while the female lead is wearing formal clothing). Binary opposition is also shown by these two characters clashing with each other

Ideas for My Short Film
Idea 1:
Name of the film: The Vlog
Genre: Horror
Synopsis: The main protagonist is a youtuber who vlogs his life away. One day while he was vlogging, he felt as if someone/something was stalking him; and gets carried away with this feeling. He ends up in an abandoned school, but doesn’t know where he is. What will he do now, is he trapped, is he mentally stable; no one knows.
Main Actor:
-
Preferably Male
-

Props:
-

Equilibrium:

New equilibrium:

Idea 7
Name of film: Vision
Genre: Realism, Sci-Fi
Synopsis: A young teenage boy has a hobby of taking photographs in the streets of Hong Kong, he holds an Instagram account where he has a lot of followers and uploads daily. One day he starts to feel that something is wrong with his eyes as he started to not tell the correct colours properly, he then thought that he was tired and had a nights sleep. The next day he goes out to take photographs again, but then he notices that he is seeing less colours than he did the day before. This slowly progressed in 5 days until his vision started to go blurry with long distance photos he was taking and eventually in short distance photos he was taking. He hasn’t told his parents yet as he was too scared to hear the outcome of what his parents would say as well as what the doctor will say.
Main actor: Teenage boy
Age of actor: 14-18 years old
Props: Camera, 18-55mm lens & 50mm lens
Equilibrium: Teenage boy taking photographs everyday to post these images on Instagram.
Disequilibrium: One day the main protagonist starts to not see some colours. As 5 days continue, he see’s everything as black and white. 2 more days later, he can’t see at a long distance range and a short distance range.
New Equilibrium: Main protagonist is told from the doctor that he has gone blind, the cause was unknown; although he said that its most likely staying up late, watching TV or going on his lap top and phone a lot (lap top and phone is the reason). Lives his life as a blind man.

Another Way for the 3 Part Narrative
Equilibrium: In the future, a teenage boy has a hobby of taking photographs everyday and posts these images on Instagram.
Disequilibrium: One day the main protagonist starts to not see some colours. Following after that day he starts to lose sense of seeing colours, this continues for 5 days; on the fifth day, he see’s everything as black and white. A day later, he cant see anything in a long distance; another day later, he cant see anything in a short distance. A day later, he goes blind
New Equilibrium: Main protagonist is told that he has officially gone blind, later on the day, he has some flashback memories of why this may have happened (could have been caused from a car accident or from substances he took before that could enhance his vision). After flashback scenes are shown, it shows the main protagonist walking with a stick and a camera strap around his neck, sits on a bench and takes a photograph of a bird.
Other notes:
-
Ending could cut to multiple scenes of different people in different locations starting to have the same affect as the main protagonist
-
This would suggest that not only he is affected by this problem but also that there is a possibility that this may be a cultural epidemic throughout earth
-
-
When main protagonist is blinded in the end
-
His other senses starts to open/kick in
-
Ie. having a sixth sense
-
Sixth sense could be to feel the presence of others around him/objects and materials
-
-
-
-
Another way to take this idea
-
Main plot of this is how a teenage boy who is a photographer lives after he has turned blind
-
The struggles in life after being turned blind?
-
How he felt
-
-
Show how he/the main protagonist turned blind
-
Stripped of being a photographer which he dreamed to be
-
-
-
Another disequilibrium
-
main protagonist gets chased by a person who lives in the streets (homeless), gets chased cornered eyeballs gauged out.
-
6 months later
-
-

Idea 8
Equilibrium: At present, a teenage boy has a hobby of taking photographs everyday and posts these images on Instagram.
Disequilibrium: One day the main protagonist starts to not see some colours. Following after that day he starts to lose sense of seeing colours, this continues for 5 days; on the fifth day, he see’s everything as black and white (this is a colour blind disease known as ‘Monochromacy’).
New Equilibrium: The main protagonist takes beautiful pictures of architectural, landscape and street photography, he is then known all over Hong Kong and is starting to become a small but famous photographer.
